ABOUT

Ephemera emerged from Bradford, West Yorkshire, during the challenging lockdown era, born from a group of friends united by a shared creative vision. Comprising artists, designers, tattooists, and musicians, the collective formed as an outlet for their overflowing imaginations and turbulent emotions, seeking release from the frustrations and constraints of those uncertain times. Initially, the idea of live performances wasn’t even on the table; the band’s name reflected the fleeting nature of the project. Yet, the music they created quickly took on a life of its own, propelling Ephemera forward with unstoppable momentum. As restrictions lifted, one performance led to another, and their raw, powerful, and cathartic live shows began to captivate audiences from Bradford to Leeds, Huddersfield, and beyond. Each song they crafted was an explosive outpouring of pure, desperate emotion.

In 2021, Ephemera released their debut EP, Why Did You Come Here? Part One, showcasing their distinctive fusion of hardcore and metalcore. The EP’s raging intensity blended aggression, melody, and atmosphere across four tightly structured tracks delivered in just over six relentless minutes. With this release, the band began to attract larger crowds and play bigger venues, as fans embraced their fiery spirit and connected deeply with songs like “Create: Isolate.” The project had grown far beyond its original purpose, becoming a shared experience for both the band and their listeners. Late in 2022, Ephemera joined Kingside Records and dropped their second EP, Somewhere Between Order And Chaos. By this time, the metal and hardcore scenes were taking notice, with Metal Noise hailing their “hailstorm of Metallic Hardcore riffs” and BBC Introducing Rock’s Alyx Holcombe championing their work.

In early 2023, Ephemera revealed in an interview with Pete’s Rock News & Views that their primary goal was to perform live as much as possible—a goal they fulfilled spectacularly. That year, they embarked on their first tour with Hounds, supported acts like Pupil Slicer and Waterlines, and headlined Shadowfest, a fundraising event for the S.O.P.H.I.E. Foundation. Their performances left audiences across the UK reeling, and in October 2023, they released their third EP, Life On Basic. Spanning from the haunting opener “Between Me And You” to the jagged, blistering finale “They Will Forget You Exist,” this release showcased their most accomplished and diverse work yet.

Ephemera carried their momentum into 2024 with the release of the hard-hitting single “Ghosted” and continued a packed schedule of live shows alongside acts such as Master’s Call, Kill The Lights, and Bitterwood. They also joined the roster of the Metathetic booking agency, aligning with other heavyweights like No Worth Of Man and Catalysis. By the year’s end, Ephemera had inked a deal with underground label Morning Star Heresy and joined the management team at Imperative PR. With 2025 on the horizon, the future for Ephemera looks electrifying.
